Sup dudes?

So I mainly joined this place in the hopes that I'll be able to network with local artists.I'm still new to networking, so anybody have any advice for that? However this place, seems fairly dead. Well, either way, I'll be uploading my art and poetry/songs up here. I'm still an amateur so critique would be really appreciated.

It may seem dead. But death is easily mistaken for slumber, because slumber fills the absence of the sort of passion and attention that gives things life. The question is... how does one rekindle this flame and bring this opportunity, as I will call this site, back to life? Most of us tend to fight as individuals and give up when it makes difference, especially since this site is just that - an opportunity, not our child and responsibility.

Yeah! the rage and the sorrow, and the cage is your own ribs. I can dig it. I see it with a heavy foot pushin' metal on wheels down that road, gotta make sacramento by nine. Gotta keep a lid on the rage, don't wanna do no time in stir. Sorrow, about what the reader might ask. Loss, right? Follows you through life, childhood passes you by as life sucks the juice out of you year after year. Packs the rage and the sorrow down pretty good under the ribs and around the heart. Alcohol ever let the beast out of the cage. Great poem. I thought the ending was weak, and some of the rhymes seemed forced, but all in all it packed a pretty good punch. Made me want to drink a bottle or two of wine with you!
