poetsespresso newsletter community

Poetry, Arts, and Publishing

Hi everyone,

The cost of poetsespresso is $150+ each issue when done through the Writers' Guild.

I hope I can get the same price if I have to print it on my own.

Unfortunately as of the end of this semester after the May issue of Artifact, the Writers' Guild will not have enough to cover another issue of poetsespresso newsletter or Artifact.

That means if I want to keep poetsespresso, the print version, going, I will have to do one of the following:

1. Sell four page-size advertisements in poetsespresso at $40 PER ISSUE.

2. Pay $150+ out of my pocket for EACH ISSUE as it comes time for it (by the way as of Friday I will no longer have my part time job)

or

3. Take sponsorships of $150+ for EACH ISSUE from one of more people who want to help. That can include something too, such as when sponsoring they could request four pages of the issue to content they wish to publicize.

4. I could cut down the publication's current 750 copies count down to the previous 250 copies per issue, and maybe switch back to black and white.

On another subject:
The budget costs will not affect the book project(s) except that it might delay contributor copies.

Thanks

Sure, if they'd buy the ads.

Why don't you get advertisements from good causes and writing and art related topics? Like art products, writer's tools, and maybe some ads for saving wild life and such?

For one issue I think Deena Heath has volunteered to cover cost of poetsespresso, and I can keep enough on hand to cover the one after, after that we'll need to fund-raise, get more supporters, or cut back. Artifact will try to resume in September (we already have pending ads in it that need fulfilling) if the guild has enough money to do so.
