I've decided it's a good idea, an idea that was passed on to my from a good friend Roger, that I base a book either of poetry or a novel on the themes presented in one of my favorite books or from one of my favorite role-models.
I've decided the book to use is a work of science fiction, "The Integral Trees." How I will progress through the next year is I shall proceed to go through it a chapter at a time and then write a chapter in my novel and work it over until I'm satisfied with the parallels in concepts or philosophy. It will not be recognizable because of so much of my own invention and ideas going into it though, and it will be a totally different story.
That's my third new year's resolution, aside from getting on a healthy diet and exercise, and writing a poem a day.
