I've been judged tremendously
with age, with sex, with race
but it's not my appear ance
that you may see
that will reveal my truest identity
look within my words - it's not encrypted
conversate with my thoughts
and see how I ink it
onto paper, explode onto canvas
or model it for the cameras...

Thanks for friending me... I'm very new to all this social network stuff, so I hope I don't screw it up... Please keep me updated on your work and events.
Hi Chinetana
Thanks for the thoughtful message, we sure will miss you at the readings, is your time all taken up? Well I'll
be featured reader at Barnes and Nobles this Sunday the 9th at 7:00, I sure hope you can manage to attend, we sure would love to see you and hear your wonderful poetry, sounds like you got a good one going.
Well here is one from me, I hope you like it, its from a poetry exercise where you pick words at ramdom and put and poem together. I think I did this one with my friend Elizabeth. This is my version with the words we chose.
Its entitled:
A Man Converted
He staggered across the line of himself
to the cathedral of dark shadows,
estranged from the light trying to seep in,
and the prisims that could warm his soul, his life.
He had crossed many intersections, cold alleys,
empty houses, drank the amber liquid dream,
smoked the tobacco ride and heart jumping trampoline
love dive.
Which way to go where would his soiled shoes lead him
on the side walk of life?
Out of confusion and depression they led him to the
bridge of sighs and call of desparation in the fog of
his futility.
Ready to leap into the cold waters his eyes opened
suddenly to the light, to the sorce of strength already there.
he had crossed the line into a new inner self,
as he strode to the cathedral where inside a shower of
grace touched him, as voicless chior hymns cornered
his heart, his soul.

I'll probably read it at the reading, when you finish your latest send it to me if you want ok. I hope to see you soon, take care and God Bless.

I love your spirit Marie. I recently wrote one yesterday entitled "1 Step at a Time" - it's about moving forward from your past and leaving it behind so it can no longer dictate your present. My Valentine's day was good - I took my kids out to the movies and I made sure I ate a lot of candy (especially chocolates - wink, wink ;-). How about you? How is everything and have you been writing? I would love to read them since I'm unable to attend the readings. I miss that energy so much. Take care, Marie.
To all beautiful things, it's simply me.....Nana
Hi Chinetana,
what's sup, did you have a great Valentine's day? have you been picking up the pen lately, hope so, if so send one across the vibes of the internet ok?
Talk to you soon.
Sincerely
Marie
Hey Chinetana,
I love your picture too, you look good, kinda like a poet in a far off place, with the breeze taking a liking to you hair. (Ha Ha ) I sure hope you stay as a hostess at Borders, you really did a wonderful job. By the way my picture was taken in Greece when I went there in 2005. Well take care and have a wonderful Valentines Day. Don't eat too much CANDY!! Ha Ha
Sincerely
Marie
