Orange Curvy Stripe
The cover crawls across the eyes
with its orange curvy stripe,
that edges off the cover
onto scarred edges cut with machines
that have no soul.
Perhaps this design book will tell me
things from long, long ago,
even though it's from times
long after hand crafting.
Or perhaps it will tell me
some of what I already know.
Its big cousin, a huge archive
of designs from the past century,
a gift from a generous friend,
should prove as worthy a source of
joyful profession.
