poetsespresso July 2009 issue

Here it is! When you print it out be sure to go to settings, Advanced, and check the box that says use Black Ink Only! Otherwise it will look an unnatural color, since this was made for greyscale.

July 2009 issue (which was the June-July 2009 issue) will be in print soon as well, for now you may view or print from the file here. Roger E. Naylor helped copy edit it.… Continue

Sonnet III.

Sonnet III.

I have settled my account. The evi-
dence runs hot within my continuance,
which forms my excuse, a divine imper-
ative. The beauty and glory I left behind
now walks around, shining, perfect in ev-
ery way. Having extended my po-
sterity, I can now pass, only to leave
this world a richer place. The only question

is, am I now immortal? It’s hard to tell;
Iran and North Korea, Russia and China,
are just a few of many ticking time-
bombs capable of swiftly deciding

Where have all the kisses gone?

Where have all the kisses gone?
I remember kisses like lightning
Sweeter then chocolate
More beautiful then sunsets

Kisses that tasted like spring
Opening my heart like a flower
Thirsty for the rain, hungry for the sun
Begging for the only divine sustance I knew

Where have all the kisses gone?
Did we leave them down at the beaches where we used to swim?
Have they been washed away by the tide
Ghosts left on cold forgotten beaches

Did we leave them at the dance hall?
Did the music drown them ou… Continue

Midsummer Night's Dream

Field of wild flowers
A secret garden hidden
Somewhere within the secret paths of your
Twisted dramatic heart

Laughter echos

With my youthful dreams
My hopeless romantics heart

Beautiful flower girls and
Enchanting beast boys
Songs and hands intertwined
In the darkness drenched mysteries of a faerie tale

Moonlit walking
Down a path wet with dew
The sweat of our nightly dances
The reality of this unreality

Kissed by night creatures
Summer wine and spring berries… Continue

Indeed. "Sunday" will be in the poetsespresso July issue, which will go to print Sunday... or Monday, depending.
The (June-)July issue is now finished. In print version; for "Black Ink Only" in printer settings.

I really enjoyed this poem, which I found by accident, when looking for a way to mend a 1940s deep green velvet dress. It just seemed the perfect thing to read. Thanks.

Too expansive? Want to thank you for inviting me Tuesday evening, forgot how much I like to hear other people read. Need to get more of my work in the computer, so I might read it better. Last posted.
